Vice Dean, Dr. Lisa Assante

Welcome to Sol International School (SIS) at Woosong University! Since launching the “Global Initiative” over a decade ago, Woosong University and SIS have demonstrated excellence in innovation and creativity. SIS delivers specialized programs in some of the fastest growing industries in the world featuring English-based instruction; extensive practical experience; and opportunities to participate in a wide variety of exchange and dual degree programs. At SIS, we bring together our students to develop innovative solutions to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Our academic model is flexible, technology driven, and responsive to the needs of students, faculty, and the global industries we represent. Whether you plan to study in Global Hospitality and Tourism Management; Culinary Arts and Institut Paul Bocuse; Restaurant Management and Entrepreneurship; Railroad and Transport Management; or Media Arts, you will experience your education with integrated curriculum that extends learning beyond the traditional classroom environment.

As our graduates manage a diverse workforce and serve a global clientele daily, diversity becomes a topic of paramount importance; hence the need to develop students who are global citizens. Consequently, I believe our role as educators is to create learner-centered activities in and out of the classroom in anticipation of situations our students and alumni will face in their careers. Diversity enriches the educational experience; promotes personal growth and a healthy society; strengthens communities and workplaces; and enhances economic competitiveness. Encouraging students to embrace and appreciate multiculturalism is a necessary component of higher education and will prepare them for careers in the world of global business.

Our goal is to foster successful and engaged international students. We believe students are the innovators, leaders, and community builders of the future who deserve a supportive and challenging environment in which to thrive.

In closing, I leave you with the very well-used words from Nelson Mandela. President Mandela said, “It always seems impossible, until it is done.” These words remain a simple, but powerful reminder of the potential within every one of us to achieve great things. I welcome you to experience your education at Sol International School. Please join us to Collaborate, Make an Impact, and Empower Yourself. The possibilities are endless!

Wishing you tremendous success,

Lisa Marie Assante, PhD
