Professor Bhandari shed light on how implementing off-grid power system brings change in the socio-economic status of rural communities. His talk included more than half dozen projects that Professor Bhandari undertook for electrifying rural communities and pioneered the world's first tri-hybrid power system comprising solar-wind and hydropower systems into one circuit.

Professor Bhandari is working closely with professors from Seoul National University, Hanyang University, Gyeongsang National University, Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), Kathmandu University and a number of research institutes in Korea, Nepal, and Tanzania for various engineering research projects.
